Not what you might think!

Sometimes when I’m talking to people, and I mention God or Jesus, people will say, “I’m not a religious person” or “I’m not into religion.” They are usually quite surprised when I tell them, “I’m not either”.

The truth is that so much of what has been practiced in organized religion has little to do with what Jesus had in mind when He said, “I will build my church”.

Auditorium at Christmas

At FBC, we’re not into ‘church as usual’. In fact, first time people at FBC find it very different from previous church experiences. If you think about church as you have had it, or as you’ve heard it, or as you expect it – that’s not us.

What makes the difference?

The church that Jesus had in mind is real, relevant and relational. We don’t dress up for God either, so you’ll be comfortable dressing like you normally do. He really doesn’t mind because He has way more important things in mind anyway.

-  It’s not about formality. It’s about fellowship.

-  It’s not about tradition. It’s about the truth.

-  It’s not about ritual. It’s about real issues.

-  It’s not about legalism. It’s about life.

-  It’s not about comparisons. It's about compassion.

And why should you care?

We’ve learned that people really are interested in Jesus and the difference he wants to make in our lives if we can just cut through all the religious trappings that have been strung up in the way.

As the lead pastor at FBC I have the privilege of being a part of a totally awesome family of faith as we share the journey together. And you can too. Our church can become your church. You will find, not only honest answers to life’s most important questions, but you will find real people with genuine concern for you as a person.

If you already have a church family that is allowing you to experience what Jesus had in mind, that’s great. But if not, you really need to check us out.

So, on behalf of all of our people I want to personally invite you to drop in on us. We have a lot of different types of activities going on throughout the week but we meet all together every Sunday morning at 10:30 and we’ll have the coffee ready.
