OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

AUDIO VISUAL

A key function of FBC is to communicate essential life truth in creative and powerful ways. That means using every available means. And it’s a technical age! If you get excited about lights, bites, lumens and mics, then you may want to drop me a line.

CARE TAKERS

Our assets as a church family include our building complex. A lot of important things happen within these walls from week to week. Along with the many programs we provide, various community groups also use our facilities free of charge. Our vision over the course of the next few years includes the development of a number of outdoor recreational facilities on our twenty acre property as well. And, of course, keeping things clean and in good repair requires a lot of workers! Our ‘Caretakers’ include people who do:

Grounds

Maintenance

Custodial

Decorating

You can help. We’d love to talk with you about it.

CHILD PROTECTION & CHURCH SAFETY (CPCS)

At FBC we place an extreme value upon children. We take very seriously the warnings of Jesus when it comes to protecting the little ones and we are determined to provide a completely safe environment for children and youth.

We have a full protection protocol in place. All of our children’s workers and youth workers are screened and trained and all activities are monitored to ensure that neither children nor workers are at risk. Like any initiative, this requires people to make it happen. Please contact me if you would like more information about this important area of service or if you have any questions about the policies that are in place.

CONNECTING EVENTS

Because we value relationships so much, we seek to provide opportunities for people to ‘connect’. We sponsor a variety of family events throughout the year that include picnics, car rallies, carnivals, camps, and so on. Keep your eye on the ‘upcoming events’ section so you don’t miss out. These events require a large contingency of workers and leaders and we love to have lots of help. It’s a blast. Don’t hesitate to give me a call if you can help out or if you have any questions about any of our connecting events.

CONNECTION MINISTRIES

Helping other people find their place of meaningful ministry within the body of Christ - that is why this service exists. It is our desire as a church to see every single member of the body of Christ busy serving in a ministry that they are uniquely equipped for, passionate about and fulfilled in. If it would bring you joy to help others experience the joy of serving, then I would enjoy hearing from you. If you’re not sure about that, then all the more reason to get in touch with me.

ELDERS

“The spiritual oversight of the body of believers in the New Testament church is the responsibility of the group of men who are recognized by the quality of their character, wisdom and spiritual commitment and have earned the respect of the people. These men are referred to as elders or pastors.”

Your concerns concern us.

FAITH BUILDERS

'Faith Builders' is our biblical education program. Nothing is more important than the truth. And no truth is more important than the truth of God’s word. This ministry is committed to providing people with the resources and the opportunities to grow in their knowledge of God and His word and the life that He calls us to.

This ministry involves:

Helping people find answers to pressing questions about God and life.

Operating the resource centre housing a large collection of quality lending materials.

Providing various courses, workshops and learning projects throughout the year.

Making some free key resources available to people such as Bibles, tracts and booklets

We are always looking for people willing to serve in these ministries and would love to speak with you about these opportunities to serve and grow.

FAITH AT HOME

At FBC we recognize that it is the responsibility of parents to teach their own children and to bring them up to know, love and serve God. We believe it is the church’s responsibility to assist and to equip parents in doing that. This is what the Family Support Network is all about. It exists to encourage parents by coming alongside of them enabling them to network with other parents and to share ideas and materials, as well as general encouragement and emotional support.

How important is this ministry?

How important is family?

How important are children?

Get involved and make a difference.

Get in touch with me.

FINANCE

All of the programs and initiatives of our church are underwritten by the generous support of our people through the weekly offering that is taken as part of our corporate worship time each Sunday. We go to great lengths to ensure integrity in this process and we are always looking for good people with a financial aptitude and/or training to serve in this important area. If you have experience, expertise or aptitude in the area of finance and are ‘sold out’ to Christ then why not get in touch with me.

FOOD SERVICES

There are few things more practical than food!!! In the Bible, food and fellowship are closely connected. Gathering around a table is sweet in more ways than one.

This ministry caters to important church meetings that benefit from a shared meal. If you would like to be involved in this important area, I would like to hear from you.

PRAYER MINISTRIES

God says, “My house will be called a house of prayer.”
Corporate prayer is completely vital to the spiritual health and well being of God’s people. It is the purpose of our prayer ministries to facilitate the corporate prayer life of our church. We host regular prayer events or ‘gatherings’. We have an email prayer network whereby we send out ‘60 second prayer alerts’ and we are always looking for new ways to help people discover the joy and power of prayer.

If prayer is something that has become a life line for you, then why not consider extending that life line to others. Please consider becoming part of our prayer ministries.

SMALL GROUPS

Small groups are not just a program. They are the dynamic of fellowship which is at the very heart of what church is – relationship. Small groups are opportunities for us to experience the kind of real, life changing interaction that God wants and has for us.

Small groups allow us to encourage one another, care for one another, and grow together. Small groups provide the best option for interactive Bible study. It is an awesome opportunity to learn, to laugh and to love. Good things happen in small groups.

It is our goal to have as many small groups as we can led by effective group leaders. So talk to me.

SUNDAY CELEBRATION

There is lots of stuff going on with FBC throughout the week, all kinds of different, interesting and important things. But once a week, every week, on Sunday mornings at 10:30 AM, everything else stops and we ALL come together for one big celebration time. It is the highlight of our week.

A lot goes into making Sunday Celebration what it is. If you are particularly gifted in the areas of music or theatre or if you have associated technical skills in the area of multimedia or production management, this could be an area where you may want to consider serving. It is exciting and rewarding but it is also very demanding. Please contact me with your interest.

UPWARD MINISTRY

This new outreach ministry is in its toddler stage since we have completed our first year of Upward's 5 day Soccer Camp. Upward is a sports driven outreach ministry geared to reaching the children of our community. It also has great potential for reaching parents with God's truth as well. We are an official partner and we look forward to bringing more sports programs in the future. For more info on Upward visit www.upward.org

WELCOME MINISTRIES

The FBC mission statement says that we want, “To be a home where people are welcomed, accepted and encouraged to passionately follow Jesus.” Making people feel welcomed and at home, especially new people, is of the utmost importance to us. Valuing people and appreciating them is very much at the heart of why we exist.

There are opportunities to serve in the parking area, the lobby, the auditorium, the coffee bar and the info counter. So, if you want the chance to make someone’s day, or maybe even their week, please inquire with me about serving on the front lines.

YOUTH MINISTRY

It has been said that we are always only one generation away from extinction. With that said, it is vital that our focus is on the younger generation. We are curently running the following youth programs:
