Steve grew up here in the Great Village area. Following a raucous early life and rather dramatic conversion experience, he attended Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Saskatchewan graduating in 1988. Since that time, he has served as lead pastor here at FBC. His responsibilities include being the primary communicator and Bible teacher for the congregation and providing overall leadership to the various church ministries with its other staff and leadership team. Steve and his wife Florence have three grown children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Beyond serving and mission, his interests include history, guitar, photography, and tomatoes.
Alex was born and raised in Bathurst, N.B. where he came to know Jesus in Highschool. After school he pursued a career in law enforcement. In 2008 he came to a fuller understanding of what it means to follow Jesus, moved to Nova Scotia, met April, and today they are married with 3 children. Alex’s background in police work was motivated by his heart for people and for the community. Today, that same passion and care for people shows up in his ministry with the youth of the church and the local community here in the Great Village and surrounding area. As FBC's youth and families pastor, Alex seeks to come alongside young families helping them to build Christ-centered homes. His other interests include the Boston Bruins, cars, and life in the outdoors.
