A Word From Steve Jones
September 17th, 2018
Dear pastors, missionaries, chaplains and friends,
Steve Jones here… Imagine driving two to three hours through a region and never seeing an evangelical church.
Driving between Vancouver and Hope, BC; or Edmonton and Calgary, AB; or Winnipeg and Brandon, MB; or Toronto and London, ON; or Halifax and Digby, NS. Not a single evangelical church.
This is the reality in Eastern Quebec. I have driven through this region of 279,000 km2 and 400,000 people and seen very few churches… even fewer evangelical churches. Our Fellowship French region (AÉBÉQ) has planted several churches in this region in the past, but there is need for many more.
Fellowship PROJECT: May – August 2016
Fellowship National is coming alongside our French Region to raise $30,000 between May and August 2016 to support two future part-time Regional workers as they develop the continued vision and mission of evangelistic advance in Eastern Québec. Pastors Hugo Éthier and Robert Bonenfant live and serve in this region and are particularly suited to help identify, train and send future workers to plant churches in Eastern Quebec.
The spiritual need in Québec is immense with only 0.8 of 1% of French Canadians self-identifying as “evangelical” Christian. This percentage drops to 0.3 of 1% among the 400,000 inhabitants living in Eastern Québec.
Please take a moment to read the Project attachment and watch the brief VIDEO that gives more details concerning our Fellowship Project for Eastern Québec.
Please prayerfully consider giving a gift and/or taking up a church-wide offering in your local church, or small group, or Sunday school class over the next few months (May-August 2016) for this project. Please pray that our collective efforts will bear “much fruit” in the years to come. Our desire is to see 12 to 15 new workers identified, trained in our church in Rivière-du-Loup, and sent out to minister to the thousands without a Shepherd in this area.
It’s great to be a part of a family. We can accomplish so much more together. Our French Region needs our support in this critical mission. Please consider sending a generous gift today. God bless you as you give.
