Dear pastors, missionaries, chaplains and friends,
Steve here… I recently sat down with Fellowship International missionary Karim Anayssi (Willowdale Baptist, Toronto, ON) who serves in Lebanon. I asked Karim about the one million Syrian refugees who are currently registered in Lebanon, according to the United Nations. “One million?” asked Karim as he shook his head. “There are over 2.2 million Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Four hundred thousand are children trapped in the refugee camps on the border.” I listened to Karim unburden his heart for the plight of these needy children. It was heart-breaking to hear.
Karim serves as Executive Director of Cedar Home, an orphanage established to care for abandoned and orphaned girls as well as those at-risk. Through our current FAIR appeal (May-August 2014) we are seeking to raise $50,000 that will cover the construction (including heating, plumbing, and electrical work, as well as woodwork, cabinetry, flooring and painting) of an apartment in Cedar Home’s building and provide accommodations for eight girls. Follow this link to watch a brief video about Cedar Home. I am asking you and your church to prayerfully consider sending a gift towards our $50,000 goal.
Thank you for being a part of this FAIR appeal. We’ll let you know the outcome of this project in the months ahead.
Have a blessed week,
