Dear Pastors, Missionaries, Chaplains and Friends,
Steve here. . .a sizeable group of our own Fellowship International mission personnel recently gathered at our annual meeting, Missions Institute, in Guelph, ON.
Annually, furloughing missionaries gather for enrichment, training and fellowship. A major value for Fellowship International is the “member-care” of our mission’s family. I have personally seen this value played out in significant ways over the two years I have served as President of our Fellowship. For over 25 years in pastoral ministry in the Fellowship, I had no idea that such a high value was placed on the holistic care of our mission personnel. It’s a high value lived out intentionally. Our annual Missions Institute is but one piece in the building blocks that create Fellowship International’s member-care plan.
Close to 60 Fellowship International missionaries met at the Guelph Bible ConferenceCentre for a week of prayer, enrichment, training and great fellowship. We were challenged by our International Director, Dan Baetz, as well as our speaker, Rev. David Marttunen, who pastors Central Baptist in Victoria, BC. We heard reports from each of our furloughing missionaries and spent time praying for their lives and ministry. We ate together, laughed together and had quiet times of crying together.
It was a tremendous privilege for Marilyn and me to share some precious time with our missionaries. We are so blessed to have such godly and capable people representing the Lord and our Fellowship of churches in 19 countries around our world.
Have a blessed week, Steven Jones
