“This lovely little baby girl was born prematurely at 29 weeks, weighing a little over 2 lbs 2 oz. She’s her mother’s joy, but can she survive?
Here in Shikarpur, we have “light boxes” where we keep the babies warm and with prayer and loving care, they can survive. This little girl is now over six weeks old and weighs 4 lbs 4 oz. During the time that babies like this one spend in hospital, we have the opportunity to both pray and share the Gospel with the family. We pray that through their stay at the hospital, they will witness God’s love for them.”

In Pakistan many women and children die from preventable causes simply because the medical care they require is simply not available. Shikarpur Christian Hospital (SCH) has been in operation since the 1960s and has made significant contributions in the life of the community through the excellent medical care they provide.
This story is one of a thousand testimonies communicating how Christ’s love is shared with families through the ministry of SCH. Many of these families might otherwise never know the gift that God sent to us in the form of a Babe in arms.
Although the hospital's buildings have been more than adequate to support the work, the passage of time and the harsh environmental conditions have taken their toll. Major renovations are required to enable our personnel to continue to provide a safe environment for patients and their families. FAIR is seeking to raise $75,000 to cover the cost of a new staff housing unit, replacement of portions of the hospital roof and floor and renovations to existing housing units. To date, the Filling the Gaps project has received $5,553.46 towards this goal.
As we begin to look towards the Easter season, we ask that you prayerfully consider supporting this worthy cause perhaps through a special Easter offering. A brief video communicating the tremendous need at the hospital and the opportunity that is ours to assist is available on our website (http://www.fellowship.ca/fillingthegaps) and can be downloaded and shared with your congregation. Additional resources (bulletin insert, poster) are also available on the site.
