A Word From Steve Jones
January 15th, 2018
Childhood should be a time of joy and innocence, but the reality for many children can be very different. The Philippines has experienced a sharp rise in the number of children being sexually exploited through the Internet. As demand for child pornography rises, desperate Filipinos seeking to support themselves and their families turn to exploitation of their children or young family members as a means of income.
IJM (International Justice Mission) has been working to locate and liberate children, some still in their infancy, from the cybersex industry. FAIR has developed a partnership with IJM and is working with them to provide specialized aftercare for these children through the Rebuilding Innocence (Philippines) winter 2017 appeal. Our goal of $120,000 will contribute to a two-year pilot program which will enable survivors to be placed in loving foster homes, changing their lives for the better.
In May 2016 I was invited by IJM to join them in visiting the Philippines to see this ministry. During this trip I met some of the children rescued from cybersex trafficking and witnessed the transformation in these young lives. How exciting to know that the restoration of innocence is possible for these children and countless thousands more like them. My hope and prayer is that through Rebuilding Innocence, many more little lives will be impacted.
As we begin the New Year would you consider contributing to new beginnings for these children by supporting the Rebuilding Innocence project? We appreciate your prayerful consideration of this project.
