A Word From Steve Jones
September 17th, 2018
Another amazing day. Thank You Lord for the beautiful day! Your creation is amazing, your children are amazing. Thank you for your amazing grace!
We had a morning devotion about showing mothers the love they deserve. none are more deserving than Tina and Melodie as they truly are mothers to 42 kids. Please pray for these ladies as they need our prayers and support.
We are Amazed at the work ethics of these kids. Never have we seen kids enjoy working so much. We ask ourselves why is it they work so hard? We believe there are a number of factors going on. These kids are from the street meaning they have a survival instinct they know hard work means survival. Their future life depends on how well they can perform in the big world. They are also looking for approval like a son looking to a father for approval. Am I good enough? Did I do good? Do you love me?
We certainly do love them and approve of them and pray they will feel our love and feel Gods love through us.
The garden is progressing nicely Big Momma (Shawn) and Aaron have led the team of kids and adults to finishing the beds construction with the blocks. Most of the gravel is in and the top soil in the first row is almost complete. two more beds to go. Getting the top soil is a bit slow as we get about one yard and hour from Fernandez and his two oxen. We hope to be done the garden construction by Tuesday and be planting Wednesday And Thursday. Wanda got more rocks and trees got painted today, the kids wanted to help at that as well we ran out of brushes before we ran out of kids to paint.
Alisha and Sherry got more room painting done some more to be done but we will need to get some air movement established to prevent poisoning from some serious paint fumes. we noticed a lot of mold growing on the walls and can tie it to lack of air movement. this is ann issue that the home will need to address as there are a lot of kids with breathing problems and we believe the mold is responsible or certainly a contributing factor.
Amanda is bonding with the kids and is really getting a first hand look at the home and how it runs. She was still smiling and is enjoying her time there immensely. Emma and Luke spend most of their time playing with the kids and also are having a fantastic time with them.
In the evening Wanda led us again in devotions, "what is our purpose?" We had some great discussion about God's purpose for our lives. We all believe this place is part of our purpose and will be in the days and years to come.
Thank you for your prayers and support. We all are feeling refreshed and ready to go each morning which we consider a miracle considering the physical work that we are not that use too. Especially Grandpa (Denis).
