A Word From Steve Jones
September 17th, 2018
Good morning to our wonderful church family back home.
As I sit here in the early morning light I am settled in my spirit knowing God is with us and you are praying for us. We are under God's authority and is he ever moving here. I don't have time to share everything that happened yesterday but here are three areas where God worked on Thursday.
1. Encouragement. We had an incredible meal last night with the camp director. Not only does he work here, but is working the worst parts of the city streets. He has a great message of being prudent in all you do, walking in your calling, and claiming John 17:15.
2. Love. I can't even begin to explain the love we have seen. Even when we are looking at things the wrong way Jesus is loving on us and bringing us closer together.
3. His authority. So last night when we are trying to have our devotions there are distractions everywhere including the neighbor's dogs who love nothing more than to growl, bark, and how. That and among other things were making it next to impossible to focus. We prayed about it and it was silenced. Now for those who have been here I am talking nor only about the dogs, but there was no noise from the city either. God is amazing!
As for things at the home, most of our supplies arrived late in the day yesterday. We did the deconstruction of the kitchen and now are ready to start working on building the new space. We have our plans in place and the ground ready for the new walkway and shed that will house the propane tank outdoors. Much of this work will really start moving today.
We did run into a few snags. We needed to find a gardener and an electrician. Oh how God provides! Our driver works as a gardener/landscaper, and our interpreter's brother is an electrician.
Dios es Buenos. To do El tempo.
Keep praying and thank you.
