A Word From Steve Jones
MAY 13th, 2019
Hola church family,
It's day 5 already! It's Sunday! Our day started with a meeting with Francisco, he came over to cerro de Luz the camp we are staying at and we went over the projects we are planning to complete and looked at budgets and time schedules. Things look like they should come together better than we thought!
Next our driver Bittwell picked us up and took us to church. We went to the childrens church. The church has 150 kids in their Sunday school program and it was standing room only in the sanctuary after the kids left for Sunday school! The message was on integrity. The kids were so glad to see us at their church. Christian sat up on my shoulders as I danced to the songs ( he had a dad for a bit), Riccy clung to Alisha and she hugged her and ran her fingers thru her hair ( she had a mom at church with her today), Emma sat and held Cindy's hand ( Cindy had someone who cared sit beside her today). We all felt used by God today to love on all those kids with every hug and high 5 it was awesome.
Bittwell picked us up after his church got finished and then we picked up Luis, his sister Ani, his father at their church and Bittwell's wife and we took them all out to El Chef restaurant for lunch as a thank you for their willingness to help us. The food was awesome!
Bittwell had to preach a message at a church in the afternoon and he knew we wanted to go see the coffee farm so for the second time already on this visit he lent us his van. So after dropping off Bittwell at his house we drove to Omar's house and picked up him and his daughter Gabbie and they took us way up the mountain to the coffee farm and gave us a tour and explained how things work and their hearts for the people and how they use the farm to do God's will.
Our Devotion time this day was amazing! We sang 3 or 4 songs of praise and prayed and then we quieted our hearts and all asked God to answer three questions for each of us;
#1 what did I do today that really was pleasing to you God and brought you joy?
#2 what did I do today God that disappointed you?
#3 if I would give you the time God what would you like to do with me in the near future?
We have some life changing testimony that came out of this time that we will share with you all when we get home!
Tomorrow we hope to start building the new kitchen walls, install the remaining emergency lights and install the forms for the concrete pads. Melodie and Tina planned a day at the water park for all the kids well we are here to help, so the girls are going tomorrow with them for the day and Buck, Chris and I plan to join them at 2:00 for the last couple hours! Should be a big day!
Thanks for your prayers! God is amazing!
