Dear pastors, missionaries, chaplains and friends,
Steve here… In my President’s address at our 2011 Fellowship National Conference I declared that “the coffee break is over!” meaning, we’re on mission as a Movement of churches and sitting around the coffee room or water cooler is unacceptable.
However, for any Association of Churches to become a Movement, it must first have a clearly defined purpose.
For the past two years our Fellowship Movement has undergone a process of asking ourselves “who we are” and “what we do”. The process included surveying, focus groups, and gatherings to retrieve the collective wisdom of our pastors and people.
I’m happy to introduce you to our Fellowship Strategic Direction Document (FDD), which serves as our “Statement of Mission” as an entire Movement of Churches.
Our “Affirmation of Faith” has served us wonderfully for 60 plus years, stating “what we believe”, but our new Statement of Mission will help to clarify our purpose and better define us as a Movement.
Please pass the FDD along to others who love the Fellowship. I also encourage you to view a short video that introduces you to our new Fellowship Direction Document. Both the FDD itself and this video can be found on www.wearethefellowship.ca.
On behalf of all our Fellowship Regional Directors,
Rev. Steve Jones, President, Fellowship
