Day 1 (Jan 20)

Hey everyone!

Today is our first day on our trip to Honduras! We got to the airport in Halifax at noon and got everyone and everything checked in. We were able to check all of the checked bags all the way to Honduras which is a huge answer to prayer! We won’t have to pick them up in Houston!

We made it to Newark 20 minutes early and had a 3-hour layover. We were able to get to our gate and get some supper. A couple of us younger people went for a walk to explore the airport. We found a piano and Isaac, Sydney, and I played for a bit! An older lady (Mary) came over to listen and we got talking to her. She was going on a mission trip to Cairo, Egypt with her husband (David). They do marriage counselling there, so that was a really cool interaction! They also prayed for us before we left!

We had a little bit of a hitch on the way to Houston. The plane that we were supposed to take had an issue with the rudder so we had to get off and thankfully they had another plane for us fairly quickly. However, we did end up leaving Newark 3 hours behind schedule. But thank you God that we still made it to Houston! So please pray that we all sleep some and have energy for tomorrow!
