A Word From Steve Jones

Hola church family,
Sending you an update on day 1 of our mission. It seems so far without exception day ones always have their challenges and ours was the same. With the mix up on Emma's tickets we ended up running to catch our flight with just a ticket to Toronto in hand for her, even after arriving a good 2 hours early. We left having no doubt amongst us that her other tickets could be obtained once in Toronto. When we arrived in Toronto her tickets for the rest of the trip were there! God is good! Then we hit a little bump with one of our bags but we caught that quick and all was good.
Off to Houston! Flight was great but the fog was thick in Houston. It took 3 attempts to try to land. First one was almost like we were lost in the fog! We dove down aggressively only to pull right back up as soon as we broke thru the fog. Maybe a little off course!? Then we came around again landing gear out once again, take a quick nose down engines idled down.... to very very quickly full throttle high rpm and straight up! Then the flight attendant comes on to speak not realizing her voice wouldn't work due to her fear and told everyone to stay calm we will be fine, just a little bad weather! Then the captain comes on and told us not to worry but they had a little miscommunication with the air traffic controller and that we have to maintain a safe distance with other planes and we were on the same course as another plane!? Not sure how close but we went straight up. Captain said don't worry he will get us on the ground! Haha! No promise of how or safely! Third attempt and we were down safely! Thank you Lord!
You will be proud to know that not one of our team was bothered by any of this nor worried over it either! Being a child of God changes our perspectives! We don't need to fear, what freedom this gives! We arrived at our hotel and met up with Shania. We got introduced to some of the Golden family that Shania was with. Nice Christian family! We ordered pizza and went to bed! I snuggled with Buck, Alisha snuggled with Autumn, Shania and Emma snuggled and Chris enjoyed the whole bed to himself! ;)
We thank you all for your prayers and we give God all the glory for answering them!
Ephesians 6 says stand firm against the tricks of the enemy and after you have done everything you can to stand firm!! Then STAND FIRM!! With the strength we been given we will do just that!!
Your team PS - the guy in the picture is our driver!
