Faith Baptist Church Journey Kids
Faith Baptist Church is a family of families. We are committed to equipping parents as the primary spiritual leaders in their homes. Our Sunday morning Journey Kids Programs are designed to support, not replace, parents and families in their efforts to disciple their children. By providing a safe, secure environment for children to learn and grow in the knowledge and love of God, we echo the same values of the wider church body by connecting them to the truth of the Gospel, a caring Christian community, and encouraging them to engage in the mission of Christ.
FAQs
What programs do you offer for kids at FBC? Currently we offer three age groups for children to engage in developmentally appropriate learning activities : - Toddlers (approximately 18 months to age 3, depending on development readiness) - Preschool & Primary (Ages 3 to Grade Primary children) - Elementary (Grades 1 to 6) The Nursery is self service and parents can watch and listen to the service while their children play. Children join their families for the worship part of the main service and are dismissed to their Journey Kids from there. Special events throughout the year give families opportunities to connect and have fun together. |
Who is looking after my kids? Will they be safe?
Safety and security is of the utmost importance to us. Each of our dedicated team of Children’s Ministry Volunteers has undergone a background security check and training. Many of our volunteers have a diploma in ECE and everyone is passionate about sharing Jesus with your children. We use a computer check-in system to register and account for children. Journey Kids Check-in opens 20 minutes before the beginning of the service. Please arrive early to ensure you are able to enjoy the whole service. Look for the computer check-in station and volunteer to the left of the lobby. Be sure to inform the volunteer if your child has any allergies or medical needs. Children join their parents for the worship part of the service, and are dismissed to their classrooms from the auditorium. Parents or care-givers of preschool children must escort their children down to their classroom where they will engage in play and age appropriate learning activities. Elementary students go upstairs for large group games, teaching, and small group, age appropriate discussion and activities. A volunteer will be in the hallway at the bottom of the stairs as kids transition to their classrooms to provide directions and answer questions. Parents or care-givers must personally sign out their children at their classroom at the end of service. |
What if my child needs me during the service?
If parents are needed during the service they will either receive a text message or be notified by an usher or other ministry staff.
What curriculum do you use?
Currently our Journey Kids and Momentum Youth programs (grades 6-12) use Grow Curriculum. Our desire is to see kids and teens grow in relationship with Christ, find belonging in a faith community, and develop their spiritual gifts.
What else should I Know?
To help us provide a healthy environment for everyone, please do not bring your child if he or she has a fever or other signs of illness.
For more info on Journey Kids or other FBC programs for children and youth, please contact Pastor of Youth and Young Families, Alex White or Tracey Jardine.
